Spring Music Program
Asa's preschool had a spring music program. Asa seemed to enjoy this one way more than the Christmas program.

He's "fixing" Norah's car with his new tools (and hard hat) from Aunt Katie and Uncle Eric.
All done!

Asa the Photographer
Asa LOVES to take pictures and will steal my phone and take as many as possible before I catch him. He's actually not too bad for a 3 year old!

Asa is 3!!!
Our sweet boy turned 3 last weekend and we celebrated Cowboy style!
We had a cowboy themed party at the house and Asa drew quite the crowd to help celebrate. Lots of family (Grandma Gail, Aunt Dacia, and cousins Nate, Eziah, and Aliyah, Cousin Mandi and family, and cousin Weston and family) along with my fellow Gammas and their families (Jen, Dana, and Dahlia) were all in attendance. Asa felt so special - his favorite part was when everyone stopped to sing Happy Birthday to him. I'm pretty sure that's always been my least favorite part of a birthday party so, yet again, I'm not sure where this kid came from?!?
I blog solely from my phone and I neglected to take party pics on my phone so I don't have any to add...
I do have a picture of Norah dressed for the party:
Also, Mimi gave Asa a fireman outfit:
And here's a shot of Asa licking the cupcake batter (possibly my favorite part of birthday parties):
He had his 3 year well check and it went great! He's hitting all physical and developmental milestones. He got one shot- chickenpox booster- and he said "ow" and then "that wasn't so bad." I was impressed! His vision is good and he's overall a healthy kid. In fact, the last time he saw his doctor was his 2 year well check!
36" tall- 20%
31#- 50%
At 3, our Asa is sweet, smart, affectionate, and a bit wild! He loves to make "deals" (ie if you put jammies on and brush teeth, you can have milk). It's all about negotiation around here. He loves cartoons, playing outside, going to school, his friends and family (especially Norah), and milk. He could go all day without food if he could drink as much milk as he wanted. It's kind of ridiculous but there could be worse things. He can, and occasionally does, spend two hours in the tub. He loves to help cook and will refer to himself as Chef Asa while I am Chef Mommy and Tony is Chef Daddy. When he wakes up, he often declares that it's "wonderful" outside. Asa has confused "wonderful" with "daylight" and I don't correct him because it's so darn cute.
We love you Asa! Happy 3rd birthday!!!

Death or Just a Balloon?
I was trying to explain to a teary-eyed Asa why his last birthday balloon would no longer float to the ceiling...
He was so distraught, I felt like I was explaining death to him. A bit dramatic, but true!

Award Winning Scooter
If they gave away awards for scooting...
I don't know how she does it so fast! I swear I set her on the activity mat, walk away briefly, come back and she's just sprawled out on the hardwood floors making me look negligent.
Good Cookin'
As of late, whenever we sit down to eat dinner, Asa tastes it, gives me a high five, and exclaims "high five good cookin' Mama." Hilarious.
TX Trip
I took a trip to TX with the kids (minus Tony) at the end of February. Norah is a great traveler and Asa has his moments. There are moments when he's really well-behaved and moments when I vow to never travel with him again. ;)

Norah and Memo
Asa and Luke
We got to spend a lot of time with Mimi and Uncle Michael. We saw Aunt Katie and Uncle Eric for dinner one night and then headed to Orange to visit with Memo. Uncle Christopher and Luke met us there. Asa and Luke played HARD and Asa loved it!
Norah is 5 Months!
I adore this baby girl! She's still so easy going and HAPPY! She's constantly smiling.

Smiling at Mama:
Doing the "sprinkler" (I tried to tell her that dance is dorky which explains the kinda sad "but I like this dance" expression).
We're still getting up twice a night to eat. Well, Norah eats. I never do. I'm wondering if I'm ever going to sleep through the night again. I bet that would feel good.
We started rice cereal this past weekend and, boy, that was met with enthusiasm! Here's video of her first experience with solids:
She's just a beautiful baby and I love being her Mama.
