Birthday Party

Asa had a "Super Asa" party which was a generic super hero party. His numerous cousins couldn't make it but his friends Harper, Riley, Greta, and Wyatt all came. Four two year olds are a handful but we had a great time!

Wiped out after the festivities! :)

Holy Moly! How is Asa 2?!?

Mimi came to town to help us celebrate which was wonderful! We started the day with cartoons and relaxation:

The rest of the day was spent hanging out at home watching the snow fall! Daddy brought home a pizza (easily one of Asa's favorite dishes). We ate and opened presents. It's amazing the difference between Christmas and his birthday (3/7). He really understood the point of ripping away the paper to get to the present inside. Playing with the paper and boxes was minimal. :) After presents we had banana flavored cupcakes with cream cheese frosting. He ate none of it. Didn't even lick the frosting. He gets this from Tony who also doesn't care for cake. Sort of sad in my opinion. :(

As a two year old, Asa is generally very happy, full of energy, funny, and sweet. He's very loving and still cuddles with me multiple times a day. He's becoming more independent and adamant about doing things himself. He runs everywhere- never walks. He gives amazing hugs. If you're sitting down together and eating he'll ask me if my food is good which I find particularly cute. He throws fairly massive tantrums- usually at stores or when we leave anywhere. He's obsessed with walks and "playing" which means going to the park. His vocabulary is growing by the day and he said his first 4 word sentence yesterday 3/28. It was "Here you go Mommy." I can't remember what he handed me.
By far my favorite Asa thing is when he hugs you, gives you a kiss on the mouth and then says "cheek" and kisses each of your cheeks like a little Englishman. Gosh I LOVE this kid! :)

Babysitting cousin Brenden

Asa LOVED it when we got to babysit cousin Brenden! He wanted to do everything with the baby including feeding him and shoving his pacifier halfway down his throat.

Don't let me block your view

The family went to dinner not too long ago. I sat across from Tony and Asa in a booth. Above my head was a tv so this is what I got to see...

Thanksgiving and Christmas in March...

Yet again, I abandoned the blog. When I let it happen, I figure I'll just give it up but then Asa won't have anything except my crappy memory to tell the stories of his childhood and I'm guilted back into writing...
Anyway, I have no mobile pictures from Christmas to add because a little boy I know erased everything from my phone. (Yet another reason to blog- my pictures get downloaded elsewhere)! We spent Thanksgiving in Austin. Katie hosted and we actually had a pretty good time. Asa got to see his Memo which is always good! My friends Andrea and Susan also got together one morning. Asa played with Susan's 4 boys and I remember thinking how grown up he seemed!
It's really amazing when your kids get to meet and play with your longtime friends' kids.

Above pictures are all by Michael at Thanksgiving.

Christmas morning was spent at our house. Asa opened presents played before we headed to Grandma Gail's house for the rest of the day. We opened more presents, ate, and hung out with lots of family. Asa met his Aunt Dacia for the first time and loved playing with Aliyah's easel and the new electronic keyboard. Ahhhhh.... Toddler music!
