Happy Halloween!
IAsa dressed up as a lion this year! We chose this costume because when we talk about animal noises, Asa loved to "roooaaaarrrr." As soon as we bought the costume, he refused to roar. Go figure.
We took him to a few neighbor's houses. When the first neighbor opened the door, he darted inside their house! It was hilarious and Tony and I took note to hold him back going forward...
He also had a great time at the library with Harper, Riley, Aniston and Quinn!!

Lucy
My dad's second love, Lucy, joined him today. My sister and I spoke on the phone tonight and laughed thinking about my dad getting another opportunity to walk Lucy while sipping an incognito rum and coke. Just like old times... :)
Send some love to my mama. It's been a hell of a year.

Asa Manning
Asa has pretty good hand eye coordination and likes to play catch. One game that he and Tony like to play involves rolling a (real) football across the coffee table to each other. Sometimes, the football bounces funny and will hit Asa in the nose. He doesn't cry or anything but he does pause the game to touch his nose and run over to mommy so I can kiss it. Play then resumes.
This is ok for now, but it won't cut it in the NFL... :)

Bad Liar
If Asa puts something in his mouth that he shouldn't, he walks straight up to me and smiles with his mouth closed. I tell him to open it and scoop out whatever he's got.
I hope this tradition of bad lying continues into his teenage years! Gotta love him. :)

No Words
Dear Asa,
You know I love you. You know I love Daddy. I'm sharing because one day it will be a funny memory. And more importantly, I may be able to use it against you at some point in the future.
Earlier this evening, you were in just your diaper standing outside the bathroom door whining because you wanted a bath. Daddy and I were arguing over who had...I mean got...to give you one. After begging and pleading Daddy 'won' and Mama left you boys to go downstairs and fold laundry. Woohoo!
After 20 minutes or so I came back upstairs surprised that you boys were still in the bathroom. When Mama bathes you it's in and out (and I firmly believe that's the correct way to do it). Anyhoo... Daddy then came out of the bathroom holding naked you and sharply told me to drain the tub. I said 'ok.' Daddy said 'now.' I glared at him and was ready to yell when I got suspicious. I scooted into the bathroom and found your poop all mixed up in your now brown bath water.
I yelled at Daddy. Daddy laughed and admitted to not paying attention to you. When he looked up you were not only sitting in poopy water but you were eating your poop. (He said you didn't like it and I'm glad for that).
So, your poor Mama just finished scooping poop out of the tub and giving it a good bleach while your irresponsible Daddy brushed your teeth. Now that I think of it, we probably should have given you another bath....
Anyway, always remember that I have and will continue to take photos of these heartwarming milestones.
Love you,
Mama

File under...
...things I do not find amusing.
Asa likes to pretend like he's choking. He coughs and makes this sound like he's gasping for air. Not cool little Mann. Not cool.
Also, where do you learn this stuff? Is it that crazy Harper or sneaky Riley? Perhaps it's the seemingly well behaved Greta?

Confession
I play fetch with Asa as if he were a dog. He brings me his red bouncy ball (that says "Pretty in Red" on it?), I throw it down the hall, yell "go git that ball," he runs down the hallway to retrieve it. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat....
I really do adore him and all this quality time we get to spend with each other.

"Doo Happens"
About 4 times a day- ha!
This was the very first thing Tony and I bought Asa. We found out I was pregnant the day before we left for a vacation to Memphis and Nashville. The front says Beale Street. Funny that we bought a blue onesie...I'll say it was my mother's intuition. :)
Uncle Michael's Outfit
Mimi gave Asa an outfit that his Uncle Michael used to wear! How sweet is that??? Of course snapping a decent picture proved extremely difficult.
